The Difference Between Graphitized Petroleum Coke and Calcined Petroleum Coke

There are three main different points of Graphitized Petroleum Coke(GPC) and Calcined Petroleum Coke(CPC), which are appearance, usage and production process.

1. Appearance

On the outside view, the Calcined Petroleum Coke(CPC) is irregular and gray, and the color of the Graphitized Petroleum Coke(GPC) is much black and shinning.

2. Usage

Both Graphitized Petroleum Coke(GPC) and Calcined Petroleum Coke(CPC) are used in steel mills smelting and casting industry. The Graphitized Petroleum Coke(GPC) has the advantages of low sulphur,low nitrogen and high carbon, and the metal luster is stronger and performance is better when used as recarburizer.

3. Production Process

Graphitized Petroleum Coke(GPC)is produced under 3000 degree high temperature in the graphited furnace and changed the interal structure of the coke.But Calcined Petroleum Coke(CPC) is produced under 1300 degree high temperature in the calcining tank.
