1. Asphalt coke
Asphalt coke is also the main raw material for the production of graphitized electrodes, graphitized anodes, graphitized blocks and other graphitized products, as well as pre-baked anodes and anode pastes. Petroleum coke is easy to graphitize, but the mechanical strength of the product is low. The graphite obtained from asphalt coke at the same graphitization temperature has larger specific resistance and higher mechanical strength. Therefore, in the general production of graphitized products, in addition to petroleum coke, a certain proportion of asphalt coke is used. Asphalt coke is a kind of coke with low sulfur and ash content, which is the final product of coal asphalt coking in coke oven. The coking of coal pitch is a complex process of distillation, thermal condensation and thermal decomposition, which is mainly distillation and thermal condensation before 450℃. A significant endothermic reaction occurs at 450~500 ° C, and a large amount of gas (low molecular hydrocarbons) is released, followed by the formation of semi-coke. When the middle of the coke cake reaches 700℃ or more, the coke gradually forms, and the final coke forming temperature is above 1100℃. The asphalt used for coking can be medium temperature asphalt or high temperature asphalt. High temperature asphalt is medium temperature asphalt oxidized by hot air in an oxidation kettle. High temperature asphalt viscosity (not easy to drill into the brick joint of the coke oven carbonization chamber), high charging temperature (can extend the life of the furnace body), small volatile content, which are conducive to the furnace loading operation.
2. Metallurgical coke
Metallurgical coke is the main raw material for the production of various carbon blocks, carbon electrodes and various electrode pastes, bottom pastes, coarse seam pastes and fine seam pastes. Metallurgical coke is made of several kinds of coking coal in a coke oven at high temperature according to a certain ratio. The ash content of metallurgical coke is higher, generally more than 10%, it is not easy to graphitize, and the electrical conductivity after calcination or graphitization is also worse than that of petroleum coke or asphalt coke.
Since the coking temperature of metallurgical coke is above 1200 ° C, metallurgical coke can be used without burning in carbon products factories, but in order to be easy to grind, its moisture should be dried.
